Barn Owls
Tyto alba

It is a nocturnal bird of prey and spends the day sheltering in lofts and attics. During the night it flies over fields hunting its prey.
Its back is a yellowish brown, the breast and face are white and it has brown markings on its back and underparts.
It has long claws and a 80-95 cm wingspan.
It has an effortless wavering flight as it quarters pastures or similar hunting grounds.
The Barn Owl feeds on micromammals, voles, frogs and insects and a minor part of the prey is made up of birds and reptiles.
It does not usually build a nest but uses those of other birds or the cavities it finds in trees and attics.
