The Environmental Education Centre

Environmental Education is naturally favoured by the presence of the Nature Park which, in addition to protecting the area and ensuring that the features of the environment are preserved, is also a natural environment for facilitating study, play and knowledge. In the Bosco di Tecchie, after the new planning of the regional system of information, training and environmental education approved by the Administrative Decree of the Regional Board n. 14 of 21/02/2006, one of the five CE (Experience Centres) is now operating and is called “CE Monte Catria e del Bosco di Tecchie”, ( code of network CPU_3) whose managing organisations are the Coop. Sociali “La Macina Ambiente onlus” and “Arancia Blu onlus jointly working with the two Comunità Montane Zones D1 and zone D2”; the structures connected to them are: the CEA n. 108 with main offices in Cantiano, the CEA 140 with offices in Frontone, and additionally the CEA 111with offices in Apecchio and the CEA 136 with offices in Piobbico. These centres belong to the same network. The latter, which has been operating for over15 years is connected to the Labter of the Furlo.
The CE mainly carries out project activities and provides information, training and environmental education services to people.
With this act the Region has sought to reward and give merit to an activity which has been ongoing for several years with great success. On the other hand it is worth noting that the same CEA draw support and resources from the presence of a protected area and operate in synergy with its managing bodies and therefore have the chance to increase and diversify their activities and widen their user group at the same time. It is therefore evident how the institutions of the Reserve benefit Environmental Education and the activities connected to it.
