The Turkey Oak Trail

Duration: 50 minutes

Level of difficulty: Easy

This trail allows you to cross the Bosco di Tecchie horizontally and find yourself in a tall tree wood full of Turkey Oaks and some beech trees. You walk along a narrow mule track surrounded by ferns, checker and hazel trees.
Along the widening paths it is possible to see age-old specimens of Turkey Oak which reach a height of 40 metres.
Microclimactic features which allow the Turkey Oak and beech tree to flourish can be observed along the trail. As a matter of fact an incredibly accurate subdivision of space has taken place over time between the two kinds of trees originating from their natural disposition.
You then reach the meadow where the botanic garden is located and continue walking past specimens of the Apennine willow and hollies until you reach the farmhouse of Ca di Tecchie.
