MEADOWS

In the area near the forest
the abandonment of cutting and clearing pastures has
caused the wood to grow creating an almost
continuous strip of pioneer shrubs such as: the
Wild Pear (Pyrus piraster),
Dog Rose (Rosa canina),
Common Juniper (Juniperus communis),
the Common Hawthorn (Crataegus monogina),
Blackthorn (prunus
spinosa), Traveller’s Joy (clematis vitalbae) and
the Scarlet Firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea).
In these meadows it is possible to observe many
species belonging to the orchid family.
